Basics of Pistol Shooting
Basics of Pistol Shooting - $275 per student | $25 WCGBA Membership Discount ($50 non-refundable deposit)
— LIMITED CLASS SIZE —
This is a comprehensive 2-day NRA-endorsed class that includes basic handgun
shooting skills for those with little or no previous experience. Topics Include: firearms
safety, proper shooting grips, stances, site alignment, familiarization with revolvers
and semi-auto pistols, how to select a handgun for your purpose, ammo types and
selection, legal issues, firearms cleaning and more. NOTE: It is recommended that students attend
this class PRIOR to purchasing a firearm.

It is recommended that students register at least two weeks prior to this class in order
to receive study and test information in advance.
Colorado Concealed Carry
Colorado Concealed Carry - 8-hour class $150 | $130 WCGBA Members ($30 non-refundable deposit)
— 2-hour renewal classes are also available @ $75 per —
This is an 8-hour class that is required by the State of Colorado for new permits in
2025. (This class now requires a written exam and a practical shooting score.) This
class covers firearms safety, proper firearms handling, situational awareness, mindset,
physical and psychological effects of high stress situations involving deadly force,
legal ramifications, Colorado and Federal laws, and much more.
NOTE: Please contact the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office (970-264-8430) if you are looking to renew your permit. They will review your training records to see if you must take the 8-hour class in order to comply with the new laws.

Personal Protection in the Home
Personal Protection in the Home - $150 ($50 non-refundable deposit) Limited class size.
This is an eight-hour course that covers basic defense in the home should the
unthinkable occur. Topics include: firearms choice, shooting positions, emergency
planning for your family, utilizing cover and concealment, police contact, and legal
ramifications. Students are required to demonstrate firearms proficiency or have
completed the Basic Pistol Shooting Course. Students will be required to provide their
own firearm, belt holster, 150 rounds of ammunition, and magazines/speed-loaders (students are responsible for and must bring
these materials). Ammunition may be available for purchase (check with instructor prior to class day).
Beyond Basic Pistol Shooting
Beyond Basic Pistol Shooting - $150 ($50 non-refundable deposit) Limited class size.
This is an eight-hour course designed to assist the student with more advanced
techniques in pistol shooting. Topics include: advanced shooting positions, reloading
drills, malfunction drills, stances, cover and concealment, and decision making.
Students are required to demonstrate firearms proficiency or completion of the Basics
of Pistol Shooting Course. Students will be required to bring their own firearm, belt
holster, magazines/speed loaders and 200 rounds of ammunition. Ammunition may be
available for purchase (check with instructor prior to class day).
(Note: Some degree of physical agility is required to perform certain tasks.)
Defensive Pistol Shooting
Defensive Pistol Shooting - $150 ($50 non-refundable deposit) Limited class size.
This is an eight-hour course designed to build confidence in pistol shooting while
maintaining situational awareness. Topics include: multiple target drills, shooting from
advanced shooting positions, tactical and stress reloading, decision making, and legal
aspects in using a firearm in defense. Students are required to demonstrate firearms
proficiency or completion of the Beyond Basic Pistol Shooting Course. Students will be
required to have their own firearm, belt holster, magazines/speed loaders, and 200
rounds of ammunition. Ammunition may be available for purchase (check with
instructor prior to class day).
(Note: Some degree of physical agility is required to perform certain tasks.)
Instructor Range Day
Instructor Range Day - $70 One Student | $60/Each Two Students | $50/Each Three Students | $40/Each Four Students ($30 non-refundable deposit) Limited class size.
This is a four-hour morning and/or afternoon session geared toward beginner
shooters to practice basic skills. Each session is limited to four students for the
purpose of reviewing shooting skills, trying out various firearms, and other firearm
related topics with an instructor. Students are encouraged to bring their own firearms
and ammunition. Instructor will have a variety of handguns available for rent ($10
each) as well as a limited supply of ammunition for sale. Please check with instructor
prior to shooting day.
Pre-requisite: Successful completion of the Basics of Pistol Shooting Course.
